Analysis of the import and export situation of China's printing machinery and equipment (Part I)
after China's entry into the WTO, China's national economy has been integrated into the global economic integration, and the domestic market has become a part of the global market. In 2003, the import and export of printing machinery continued to maintain rapid growth, but the import and export imbalance and a large trade deficit did not improve. The sharp increase in the import volume of printing machinery in 2003 makes the development of China's printing machinery manufacturing face greater challenges. In 2003, the export of printing machinery increased significantly, with the import volume reaching 1.61 billion US dollars, the highest level of import over the years. With the continuous decline of tariffs year by year, tariff protection will gradually lose. China's entry into WTO will bring opportunities to China's printing machinery and equipment manufacturing industry. Expanding the export of printing machinery and equipment and gradually balancing the import and export will open up a broader market for printing machinery and equipment and have a beneficial impact on the development of enterprises. Expanding exports can also cultivate our technology and management team, improve the technical level and quality level of products, reduce the dependence of the domestic printing and packaging industry on the tensile and tightening properties of brittle materials in China and foreign products with great differences in damage situation, promote the continuous progress of science and technology, and strengthen the competitive strength of China's printing machinery manufacturing industry to participate in the international market. 1、 Current situation of import and export of printing machinery and equipment
in recent years, the import and export of printing machinery have the following characteristics:
1 China's import and export of printing machinery and equipment showed a rapid growth trend. The export volume in 2003 increased by 59.1% compared with that in 2002, and the import volume increased by another 30.2% year-on-year, both reaching the highest level in recent years. It reflects the success of a series of economic policies, such as adopting sound fiscal and economic policies, expanding domestic demand and increasing investment in fixed assets, which drive and promote the rapid development of the printing and packaging industry. On the other hand, the sales volume of 42 domestic printing machinery enterprises reached 4.084 billion yuan, an increase of 15.7% over 2002, and the export growth rate was large, which also reflected the strong development momentum of the domestic printing machinery manufacturing industry and the strengthened awareness of participating in international competition
2. From the analysis of the varieties of import and export printing machinery and equipment, the largest import volume of printing machinery and equipment is still various printing equipment, and the two main products with the largest import volume. First, 933 sheet fed lithographic printing machines, especially multi-color printing machines, were imported, 148 more than that in 2002, with an increase of 49.1%; Second, web printing machines, mainly newspaper rotary machines and commercial rotary printing machines, imported 131 sets in total. Although 24 sets were imported less than in 2002, the import volume increased by 80.5%, reflecting the relatively high value of large and medium-sized printing machines, especially the rapid growth of the import of commercial rotary printing machines, which also proves that the domestic commercial rotary printing market has been formed
these bulk imported products are the weakness of China's exports over the years. In 2003, 322 sheet fed printing machines and 114 web printing machines were exported, and two good achievements of US $20.597 million in foreign exchange were achieved, an increase of more than 150% over 2002. The varieties of these export products constitute printing machines with small specifications, monochrome and low technical content, mainly small lithographic printing machines
3. In addition to a large number of imports of traditional printing machinery and equipment, another major import item is that the total import volume of "other unlisted printing machines" in customs statistics has remained high. In 2001, 28566 sets of printing machines were imported, with an import volume of 220million US dollars; In 2002, 31113 sets were imported, with an import value of 212.5 million US dollars; In 2003, 25248 sets were imported, with an import value of US $225million. The imported products of this item are all-in-one machine, proofing machine, digital printing machine, self-adhesive printing machine, pad printing machine and special printing machine
4. In 2003, the bulk products of printing machinery and equipment with an export of more than 10million US dollars were other unlisted printing machines, inkjet printing machines, pre press parts of traditional power line zigzag experimental machines related to equipment, printing and auxiliary machine parts for printing, paper cutting machines, web printing machines. Printing machinery and equipment with a year-on-year increase of more than 100% in 2002 include inkjet printers, web printers, sewing and binding machines, laser phototypesetting equipment, sheet fed printers, etc
5. The main countries and regions of China's printing machinery exports are Hong Kong, with a volume of US $29.3062 million; Export to Japan 29.1568 million US dollars; US $17.23 million for export to the United States; Exports to Vietnam amounted to 6.1494 million US dollars. Export developed countries tighten in time; Our products are mainly units, components and parts of printing machinery and equipment. The export products of the whole machine are inkjet printers, paper cutters, etc. Exports to underdeveloped countries are mainly complete machines
the main countries and regions importing printing machinery are 560million US dollars from Germany in turn; Japan imported 468million US dollars; Taiwan's entry into the mainland amounted to US $131 million; US $76 million; Switzerland imported US $61.3 million; Britain imported US $47.9 million
second, from the perspective of printing machinery import, the printing industry in China has developed fastest in the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta and the Bohai Rim region centered on Beijing. The total output value of the printing industry in these three regions reached 40 billion yuan in Guangdong in 2003 (including 18.7 billion yuan in Shenzhen in 2002), 15 billion yuan in Shanghai and more than 8.9 billion yuan in Beijing. From the import volume of printing machinery and equipment in 2003, we can also see the momentum of rapid growth of the printing industry in these three regions. Guangdong and Shenzhen imported 393 sheet fed printers, accounting for 42.1% of the national import volume, 40 web printers, accounting for 30.5% of the national import volume, 2574 inkjet printers, accounting for 23% of the national total import volume, 95 gravure printers, accounting for 43.4% of the national import volume. In addition, silk screen printing machines Other offset printing machines and binding equipment account for a large share of imports
in the Yangtze River Delta region, 147 sheet fed printers were imported from Shanghai and Jiangsu, accounting for 15.8% of the total import volume of the country; 19 web printing machines, accounting for 14.5% of the total import volume of the country; 561 flat printing machines, accounting for 33.6% of the total import volume of the country; 5595 inkjet printing machines, accounting for 49.9% of the total import volume of the country; 95 laser typesetters, accounting for 39.1% of the total import volume of the country; in addition, binding machines, flexographic printing machines, gravure printing machines Other silk printing machines also account for a large share
162 sheet fed printing machines were imported from Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, accounting for 17.4% of the total import volume of the country. 22 web printing machines were imported, accounting for 16.8% of the total import volume of the country. 1179 inkjet printing machines were imported, accounting for 10.5% of the total import volume of the country. In addition, the imports of sewing and binding machines and plate making equipment also accounted for a large share
printing machinery and equipment are imported through different trade methods. Some equipment are imported through general trade, such as sheet fed printing machines, binding machines, plate making equipment, web printing machines, inkjet printing machines, unlisted offset printing machines, book binding equipment, etc., accounting for more than 50% of the total import volume. This trade method is concentrated in Beijing, which shows that Beijing imports foreign equipment mainly for publishing and printing, Users are also concentrated in state-owned and joint-stock enterprises. Another way of import is processing trade import and foreign investors use imported equipment as investment import. The equipment imported more include sheet fed printing machines, lithographic printing machines, unlisted offset printing machines, gravure printing machines, flexographic printing machines, etc. the equipment imported in this way is concentrated in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. The main purpose of imported equipment is to engage in packaging and printing, and most of them are Sino foreign joint ventures. Shanghai is between the two, and the system of enterprises is also diverse. (to be continued)
